Adult Ministries
JPL Bible Church offers various adult ministries to meet spiritual and physical needs.
Morning Church Services
JPL has two different morning church services to attempt to serve different worship music tastes, with the same basic message. The evening service has different music and message and is small and interactive.
Besides attending church services, JPL desires to help each Christ follower to identify and develop their interests and gifts in serving other people inside and/or outside the church.
Discover JPL Lunch
We typically meet at 12:30 on the third Sunday of the month for about an hour. If you are looking at different churches this is a great time to get a good look. If you are new to JPL or want to get more involved this is a great place to start. Have lunch and get acquainted with Pastor Steve and his wife, Marty.
Connection Groups
This is our name for the smaller groups that allow for personal interaction. These groups launch for 6 weeks in the fall and after a break for the holidays start back up, often with different subject matter. One of the groups we try and offer is an Experience Christ group that examines the basic skills of becoming a self-feeding, strong Christ follower. These skills are communicating with God through the Bible and prayer, participating in the church spiritual family, giving, worship, spiritual gifts and service, spiritual disciplines.
Women’s Ministry
The active women’s ministry plans many events during the year, including retreats and banquets. Their Beth Moore Bible Studies are very popular. They gather in large groups to see the video presentation and then discuss it in small groups.
Men’s Ministry
The developing men’s ministry enjoyed a spiritual retreat in May. There currently have two groups that meet to discuss a selected book that applies to their lives.
Encourager Team / Prayer Team
We train people to help other people in the church with discussions about how the Bible applies to life and also through extended prayer.
Discover Spiritual Gifts
We encourage the use of the Three Colors of Ministry book (available at the Connection Table) to understand more about your spiritual gifts and to take a survey and discuss it with a spiritual gifts counselor. Once you start serving, the Lord uses our interests, desires and experiences to guide us into our supernatural talents the Bible calls spiritual gifts. This is another great way to grow spiritually and make friends in the church since most ministries operate in teams.
Reaching Out
If you want to have passionate spirituality, you need to be Bible based, Spirit directed and world focused. We have a missions team that leads JPL in benevolence, evangelism and missions. The benevolence team provides food for those who can use some help. Our priority is our own JPL spiritual family, but we also serve some from the community. The evangelism team provides and interesting book called Organic Outreach for Ordinary People by Kevin Harney that teaches us a lifestyle of prayer, care and share with our unchurched family, friends and neighbors. Our missions team works with SIM International to find ways to obey the command of Jesus to reach out to not only our own community, but to other cultures in our community and elsewhere in the world.
